The Professional Practice (Co-op) program provides eligible students with the most comprehensive education and professional preparation available. Cooperative education involves the planned and monitored alternation of salaried, professional, degree-related work experience with academic study. UC’s professional practice program has served students and employers for almost a century.

We are one of the premier institutions for cooperative education. Educators and business representatives from around the world regularly travel to UC to learn firsthand how to design and implement co-op programs. Currently UC has 3,800 students in 44 disciplines and more than 1,500 employers in 34 states and 9 foreign countries participating in the program. The extension of classroom and laboratory teaching by practice in a chosen profession adds a unique dimension to student learning and preparation for entering a chosen career areas.

Our co-op program is carefully designed and tailored to meet the individual needs of employers and the educational goals of student participants. Co-op will work for your organization too.
