ASP List Directory 2.0

October 28th, 2008

Building on the earlier example of listing all the files within a directory on a webpage, we can now add some nifty sorting features to make the experience all the better.

Just put both files in a directory with the rest of the files and you’re done! Easy as cakes.

Here is an example of the code in action.

ASP List Directory 1.0

October 21st, 2007

There have been occasions where I have needed to just dump some files in a hidden directory of a website for internal use or to preview to a client. I don’t want to create a whole preview site for just this instance, and I want to keep directory browsing off for the rest of the site.

ASP offers some simple tools to list all the files in a specific folder and any sub-folders. The following code wasn’t written by me, credit goes to Mike Hall. I did however make some modifications to his original code. He had it set up in such a way as that you needed to manually enter which folders would be listed. I wanted something simpler. Something you could just drop in a folder on your site and it would automatically load and list all the files. I also didn’t want the index file to appear in this list.

Here is an example of the code in action.

Windows Defender Error 0×800106ba / 0×80071b90

September 7th, 2007

If you are getting Windows Defender Error Message 0×800106ba when starting XP, try opening your services (select Run in the Start Menu and type services.msc) and starting Windows Defender manually.

If this does not work, you might get Error 0×80071b90. If this is the case, you can fix this by downloading the newest version from Microsoft. This should fix everything up nicely. Microsoft Update.

This (hopefully) helpful item was learned here.

University of Cincinnati Co-op

UC Co-op

ASP, CSS, HTML, JavaScript

Cooperative education (co-op) is the practice of alternating students’ studies with paid, professional work related to their major. This site was designed to meet the needs of the important constituents of the co-op triad (the student, the employer and the university).

I created this site while working for the University of Cincinnati. There is also a second section of this site, only accessible to current students unfortunately, which contains educational materials to enhance student’s on-the-job experiences. Upon login, required objectives, projects and reports are available.

This is an archived version of the site that I built.

ASP, CSS, HTML

A simple front end site put together for a small freelance group I was working with at the time. I also helped with the back end of the site, which included a file manager and tech desk for our clients.
