The International Mission Board is a missionary agency affiliated with the Southern Baptist Convention, the largest Baptist group in the world. The 2008 Southern Baptist Convention Annual Meeting was held June 10-11 in Indianapolis, IN.

My role in the project was to create the images that would appear on the 4 S/wall displays, 3 concave wall displays, 3 triangular bookcase-columns, and the central 4-sided tower. Additionally, I created conceptual renderings of the exhibit to help arrange the elements and direct the traffic flow throw the booth.

Flash, Illustrator, InDesign, VIZ 2008

This trade show exhibit was designed for a promotional campaign at the 2008 National Religious Broadcasters Convention, March 8-11 in Nashville, TN.

I worked as part of a team on the concept, 3D modeling, and production of this exhibit. I also created the collateral materials and kiosk display for the monitor.

Keyboard Shortcuts

October 30th, 2007

Below are PDFs containing helpful shortcuts to many common design programs. Some of these were developed by the folks over at Computer Arts, the rest were created by yours truly.

The shortcuts here are the defaults. Most of these programs will allow you to customize these to suit whatever needs // wants // quirks you may desire. Hope you find them helpful!

InDesign CS2 Object Snapping

October 29th, 2007

Nope. You can snap to guides and grids, but there will be no snapping of one object to another. Not in CS2. No sir. You can go ahead and do that all you want in Illustrator, but InDesign will not let you bring that trash into its home. Playa!

Illustrator Twirl Tool

September 25th, 2007

A nifty little tool has some hidden little tricks to it. The standard tool is a circle that will twirl an object’s edge counterclockwise.

If you hold alt before using the tool, you can reshape the ellipse, and like resizing most things, holding shift during this will transform it uniformly.

Holding down alt after you have begun holding down the mouse button will reverse the direction of the twirl.

Have fun twirling!

Jon Krech, founder and lead singer of the doom metal band Silver Cypher is a good friend of mine. We have worked together (not with music) on designs and web apps for several years now. He’s a great guy and you should check out the site and the music.

Summer Pro League

August 24th, 2006

Summer Pro League

CSS, HTML

The Southern California Summer Pro League is the premier summer showcase for basketball’s greatest teams and showmen. The League is the sole summer stage upon which both current NBA stars and undiscovered players perform. It is the medium through which both raw and experienced basketball talent can maintain and hone their skills through competitive league play.

I developed the template for the SPL’s home on the internet. After the design was in place and built in HTML and CSS, I handed it off to other team members for the backend support. I currently do not maintain the page in anyway.

Funny Bone Website Concept

Funny Bone

Photoshop

A conceptual redesign of the Virginia Beach Funny Bone website. Unfortunately, things happened leading to things not happening. Long story short, the idea for a redesign was dropped entirely.
